Mitchell Evans is a medium sized architectural practice with offices based in Godalming, Surrey, East Cowes, Isle of Wight and Cowbridge, South Wales.
We are a forward thinking practice with an increasing number of exciting and diverse projects from feasibility stage through to completion. The projects range from master planning, new builds, extensions and refurbishments to existing high end residential properties, as well as commercial and public buildings.
Due to the recent growth and an increase in commissions, an exciting opportunity has arisen to join our East Cowes offices.
Candidates should show strong design skills and sound technical knowledge. You will need to be a team player able to carry out diverse architectural work with minimum supervision.
You will need a minimum of 5 years’ industry experience, fluency in AutoCAD or Revit, strong people skills, excellent technical and detailing skills, a thorough knowledge of UK Building regulations, construction methods and the ability to carry out NBS specifications or equivalent to a high standard. You will also need a full UK drivers license.
With a formal qualification in a construction related subject, you will need a minimum of 5 years’ industry experience and good people skills, fluency in AutoCAD or Revit with good technical and detailing skills, and a working knowledge of UK Building regulations and construction methods. Experience in Sketch Up and Photoshop would also be desirable. You will also need a full UK drivers license.
The salary will be negotiated based on your skills and experience.

Exciting new projects on the Isle of Wight
Happy new year! We have some excitng projects that we are working on.
A new exciting house in Brading, its all a bit secretive at the moment so will update when we can.
A application for new contemporary chalet bungalows in Newport has been submitted to council. They boast incredible views over the Medina valley.
We are also due a decision on a new house in East Cowes. A modern interpretation of the existing housing stock in the area.
Isle of Wight Office gets some reinforcements
Mitchell Evans are pleased to announce the Launch of our new Isle of Wight office in East Cowes, the office is located in the grounds of Queen Victoria’s Osborne House in the converted Stable Block.
Our Associate Colin Miller has moved over to head up the office with Tim Howell who is was born and bred on the Island.
Combining Colins experience and Tims local knowledge and contacts they will work to raise the profile of Mitchell Evans on the Island and along the South Coast where they will offer all architectural services ranging from planning to on site supervision to Clients from all sectors in the industry, (www.mitchellevans-iw.co.uk)
The island office will be able to draw on the depth and breadth of experience and resources available from the Head Office in Godalming, which effectively means there are no projects too large or complex to undertake on the Island and the South Coast, it will also give peace of mind to Clients that they are working with an established architectural practice with local knowledge.
The office is currently 4 strong with James Crump and Danny Knox supporting Colin and Tim on a daily basis, throughout the working week members of staff return to Godalming on an alternate basis to ensure continuity between current projects, upcoming events and to maintain a familiar working relationship with the staff.
Look out for Colin and Tim as they attend professional and social events and work in the local community, this is an exciting time for Mitchell Evans and we wish them luck on this venture.
Permitted Development outbuilding nears completion
A "mancave" in Chobham, Surrey is nearing completion. The permitted development outbuilding boasts a large open plan entertainment area with large sliding/folding doors intended to encourage the indoor/outside living. The scheme has been designed to meet the requirements of permitted development and therefore not requiring a formal planning application.

Planning permission granted for a new 25'000 square foot house
We have received planning consent on a new 25'000 square foot Georgian mansion house that boasts a grand staircase, 9 bedrooms, a swimming pool, bowling alley and separate staff accommodation. Construction is expected to start early 2015.
