About Mitchell Evans Architects
We are a medium sized architectural RIBA chartered practice now based both in East Cowes on the Isle Of Wight and in Guildford, Surrey. Over many years we have undertaken a diverse range of architectural projects including design, feasibility studies, planning permissions, listed building consents as well as tender and project procurement, to contract administration and site inspections. It is always our objective to maintain the client at the centre of their own project and Mitchell Evans retains many satisfied clients year on year.
The practice employs a broad range of staff in both the Surrey and Isle Of Wight offices. These include Architects, senior architectural designers, architectural technologists and technicians all of whom work together to ensure that the correct resources are applied to each projects and each client.
Toby Howell, Partner – Chartered Architect.
Toby has over 16 years of experience in design and refurbishment of both residential properties and buildings of a listed status as well as a strong portfolio of commercial work. He was born and grew up on the Isle of Wight and this is where his interest in architecture was first aroused, Toby has experience in designing new build projects, extensions to and refurbishment of existing properties, both in the local vernacular architecture and contemporary modern design. Key projects that he has worked on include new build, individually designed houses and an award winning extension and refurbishment of a Grade II listed country house.
Tim Howell – Architectural Designer.
Tim has over 10 years’ experience of detail design and construction and has a keen eye for detail. Educated at the University of Plymouth and then the University of Portsmouth has meant he has developed a broad ranging design approach. Tim is a key member of the team at Mitchell Evans, with experience of designing, extending and refurbishing many different types of projects including residential homes, larger developments and commercial properties. Tim's design work has an emphasis on natural light, material selection and responding to surrounding context to produce architecture of a very high standard.
Colin Miller, Associate - Chartered Technologist.
With over 28 years’ experience in the construction industry, Coin is highly skilled in the design and technical detailing of residential new build, extension and refurbishment projects, he is also experienced in working with listed buildings, leisure and commercial property. Colin’s role involves design and planning, technical construction drawings and specifications, along with on-site project inspections and management through to completion. Colin has a thorough knowledge of the planning process, and works closely with Consultants at an early stage of the project, he also has an in-depth knowledge of the Building Regulations and the Construction Design and Management (2015) Health and Safety Regulations to deliver bespoke detailed technical packages to allow accurate costing and efficient site construction and management.
James Crump - Architects Assistant.
James has completed his RIBA Part 2 at the University of Portsmouth. James has a very thorough approach to all of the projects he works on. His technical knowledge is becoming a real asset within the office and has experience working on both small and large scale residential projects. Whilst in his previous employment James worked on the design of some large commercial premesis.
Maisy Howell (Moo) – Archidog.
